Psychology Programs at uWaterloo
At uWaterloo, 'program' refers to the degree, for example, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, etc. 'Academic plan' refers to the area of focus, such as a Psychology Major or Psychology Minor.
Academic plans available in Psychology
Note: Honours Psychology is available through both the Faculty of Arts (Bachelor of Arts degree) and the Faculty of Science (Bachelor of Science degree) but Three Year General Psychology and Four Year General Psychology are available only through the Faculty of Arts.
Access to Psychology Academic Plans:
As of March 2007, only those who are available to take courses on-campus at the uWaterloo during the daytime (e.g., Psych 291 Fall, Psych 292 Winter, etc.) will be considered for admission to the Psychology Major. Those who plan to take courses online, by distance education, and/or evening study only will not be admitted to the Psychology Major. Exceptions will not be granted for online/distance education/ evening studies students who also plan to take courses at other universities (e.g., on Letter of Permission or on Cross-Registration in the case of Wilfrid Laurier University). This decision is regrettable but necessary due to budget constraints.
For those interested in a career in human resources, the Human Resources Management Minor is administered by the Psychology Department.
