ACCESS TO PSYCHOLOGY ACADEMIC PLANS
As of March 2007, only those who are available to take courses on-campus at the Univ of Waterloo during the daytime (e.g., Psych 291 Fall, Psych 292 Winter, etc.) will be considered for admission to the Psychology Major. Those who plan to take courses online, by distance education, and/or evening study only will not be admitted to the Psychology Major.

DEGREE REQUIREMENT ASSESSMENT FOR THE PSYCHOLOGY MAJOR/MINOR
Print the appropriate check list (next section) and fill in the courses that:
- you have successfully completed so far (in pen)
- you are currently taking (in pencil) (if applicable)
- you are planning to take next term (in pencil) (if applicable)
so that you can see what you have left to do and can plan when to take the remaining requirements. You should do this routinely each term because it is your responsibility to ascertain that all requirements for graduation have been met.
If you are trying to decide between 2 Psychology academic plans, fill out both check lists so you can make comparisons and revisions to your course plan as necessary. If you are hoping to switch from General Psych to Honours Psych, see FAQ 23 for further details.

CURRENT ONLINE PSYCHOLOGY MAJORS
The following lists are relevant for those who only enrol in online or evening courses (i.e., courses with start times of 3 p.m. or later) throughout their uWaterloo studies.
Effective March 2007, the Psych Dept will no longer be admitting students to the Psychology Major who will be completing degrees online, by distance eduacation, and/or evening study only. EXCEPTION: Those who were previously uWaterloo online/distance education Psychology Majors and discontinued their studies, may apply for readmission to Three Year General Psychology.
Notes to current and returning Three Year General Psychology Majors:
- For those wanting admission to Four Year General Psychology: We typically do not transfer Three Year General Psychology Majors to Four Year General Psych until they have completed third year (15.0 units in total with a cumulative Psychology average of at least 70%) and their proposal for completing the remaining Psychology courses for the degree (not enough offered by uWaterloo) has been approved by the Psychology Advisor.
Taking courses at other universities
- For those hoping to transfer to on-campus studies eventually for Honours Psychology, refer to FAQ 13 and 14.
- Online Psych course offering updates:
- last/final online offering of Psych 356 (Personality Theory) will be Winter 2012
- last/final online offering of Psych 354 (Interpersonal Relations) will be Spring 2011. This course will be replaced by Psych 354R (Interpersonal Relations) Fall 2012.
- availability of Psych 211 online (Developmental Psych) beyond Spring 2012 is unknown.
