General Submission Information

Please review Abstract Guidelines prior to submitting Abstract

Abstract submission deadline has been extended to Friday March 17, 2006. Papers may be presented in one of two formats:

(a) poster
(b) oral

Abstract Guidelines

A short abstract not to exceed 150 words is required. If your paper is accepted for the conference, this abstract will appear in the conference program. Note the following:

  • any empirical, theoretical and review presentations are eligible for presentation

  • abstracts should follow the APA guideline for abstracts

  • abstract submission must be made by the first-author

  • the first author will be assumed to be the primary presenter

  • students will be allowed to present, as first author, only one paper or poster, but a student may be a co-author on other papers or posters

  • thesis advisors are allowed to sponsor multiple papers

  • presenters are expected to be undergraduate students, although they do not have to be Psychology majors

  • we cannot honour requests to present at particular times

  • submissions should be made on-line if possible and the submission link is at the conclusion of this Guidelines section. If necessary, the Abstract may be submitted by regular post and that link is found at the conclusion of this Guidelines section

Submission Deadlines for Oral or Poster Presentations

  • extended to Friday March 17/06

  • late submissions will not be accepted

Presenting Your Paper Orally

  • you will have 12 minutes to speak, followed by 3 minutes for questions and answers

  • data projection is available for PowerPoint presentations, slide and overhead projection equipment is provided

Presenting Your Paper as a Poster

  • presenters will be responsible for constructing a poster no larger than 116.84 cm wide by 119.38 cm long (46.25 inches wide x 47 inches long)

  • tacks will be provided

  • presenters are expected to remain with his or her poster throughout the duration of the poster session in order to be available for questions/answers regarding the research project

  • only a limited number of spaces are available for poster presentations. Poster requests will be assigned on a first-requested, first-awarded basis; some students may be asked to change to an oral presentation
