Program Goals

In order to meet our goals of not just competence, but rather a high level of excellence in research and applied skills, the Waterloo Clinical Division has evolved a number of specific objectives and has established training strategies to meet them. Goal 1: Integration of scientist and practitioner roles consistent with the Boulder Model.

Goal 2:  Understanding of core psychological theories.

Goal 3:  Appreciating a broad range of scholarship.

Goal 4:  Sophistication in research and experimental design.

Goal 5:  Highly refined behavioural science skills.

Goal 6:  Clinical skill development.

Goal 7:  Excellent written and oral presentation skills.

Goal 8:  Understanding of diverse populations.
